The Tactics of White Hat SEO vs Black Hat SEO Posted By : Alan Smith

Posted in: Computers, Entertainment, Marketing |

In white hat SEO techniques, the site content is crafted keeping in consideration the guidelines set forth by the search engines for effective SEO services. They abide by the rules laid down and play it safe. White hat methods are the legal technique of search engine optimization.

Black hat SEO techniques are just the opposite of white hat SEO. Here the rules laid by search engines are not followed, but instead changes are made in the website that can get links to a site. The customer experience is not given much importance. Instead, the concern is only to score better in search engines. It is an illegal method for search engine optimization. We receive a lot of interesting products in the labs for review over the course of a year.  We do not always review all of these products, although we will at least make mention of them in our blogs or forums from this point forward. In the meantime, there are those products that sometimes deserve more than a mention for a variety of reasons.  Today we have one of those products and it comes from Vigor Gaming.

    ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 - R700 Preview: AMD’s Fastest Single Card

Posted in: Computers, Entertainment, Marketing |

    Remember this slide?

The “Scalable design” block we already know about, that’s RV770 - we reviewed it last month. The 150W TDP $300 part is the Radeon HD 4870, and the 110W $200 part is the Radeon HD 4850, the two cards that have caused NVIDIA quite a bit of pain already. The smaller $100 part has a name, and a release date, neither of which we can talk about at this point, but it’s coming.

Today however, is about the 250W, $500 multi-GPU solution - internally known as R700. Hot on the heels of the Radeon HD 4800 series launch, AMD shipped out ten R700 cards worldwide, attempting to capitalize on the success of the 4800 and showcase the strength of AMD’s small-GPU strategy.

Word of the mouth might not be enough if an effective networking has to be achieved. This is done with an active assistance of networking tools such as social book marking, video and photo sharing websites and an engagement with blogs which share the content through the use of RSS in the blogosphere. Other special blog engines which perform in the same way like Technorati are especially popular with the younger lot. Techniques like these help in building new opportunities for the marketers and for even those who are new entrants in this field. Social media optimization is basically, a set of methods for generating publicity through the social media, online communities and community websites. AMD SB750 arrives on the Foxconn A79A-S…

Posted in: Computers, Entertainment, Marketing |

Our first AMD SB750 equipped motherboard arrived this weekend courtesy of Foxconn. We have been working around the clock to dispel or verify the rumors about how a simple update to the SB700 SouthBridge could unlock the overclocking potential of the Phenom processor series. It turns out changes to the SB750 are actually significant and include a new low level link interface that AMD has named Advanced Clock Calibration. Along with the new ACC technology is a significant update to the AMD Overdrive Utility and required BIOS code changes for this new interface to operate properly.

In fact, there are so many changes that we will be back tomorrow with a full review of this new SouthBridge, the technology behind it, and an in-depth look at AOD version 2.1.2.

    GSP/Avanquest - Our Living Oceans

Posted in: Computers, Entertainment, Marketing |

Billed as an interactive guide to the seas, Our Living Oceans comes in a box adorned with the badge of the National Museum Of Natural History, and there’s the Dorling Kindersley logo on there too. There’s little doubt that this is aimed at the educational market, and the fairly low price point may persuade some parents to fork out for it.

But there are problems here, and they all come down to the age of the program. For in spite of being originally released in 1999, Our Living Oceans - which unsurprisingly supports all versions of Windows from 98 upwards - is proudly on sale with Vista support listed on the box.

Camping out for the iPhone 3G…

Posted in: Computers, Entertainment, Marketing |

I’ve got this friend, his name is Mark, he works for a video game company - you may have heard of them. I made the mistake of hanging out with him a bit tonight.
He came over to check out progress on my HTPC, but then we quickly got to talking about the iPhone 3G and the best time to get them in the morning. Mark was convinced that they’d be sold out if we didn’t go early; the closest Apple store is bound to be crowded and he didn’t want to wait behind people to check out. His plan was hatched: go watch a midnight showing of Hellboy II, bring laptops and work from 2AM until 8AM when the AT&T store near us opened. Mark must be real good at his job because he convinced me (I still don’t quite know how). (Read the full post about ‘Camping out for the iPhone 3G…’…)

    Samsung - F110 miCoach

You may already be one of those people who run wearing a portable music player strapped to their arm, or a phone that can play music and take calls strapped to their arm. Or, indeed, you might use one of the several sports-related applications you can get for mobiles, or maybe a separate GPS-based sports tracking device.

Well, Samsung wants you to forget that lot. The F110 miCoach is an attempt by Samsung to make a sports specific mobile phone, and it can do the lot.

Avanquest - Learn To Win At Poker: Texas Hold ‘Em

Posted in: Computers, Entertainment, Marketing |

Your reviewer is perfect fodder for this budget title, which claims to help you learn and understand the world of poker. For, in spite of enjoying the odd game of cards from time to time, he’s been keen to learn more about poker, and indulge himself a little with next month’s mortgage money. With that in mind, a tutorial product seemed like quite a good plan. Hurray.

But this one’s a tutorial product with a twist: because - and this is a bit of a flaw, all things considered - you do need some poker knowledge before you step up to the virtual table. The way the product goes about its business is very much learning by doing.

You play with a computerised game of cards, and the computer chips in with some advice.
